Air + Water from the same port

Hello!

We are currently running an experiment that incorporates water delivery for successful trials, which has been working great! We were hoping to add an air puff as a punishment for failed trials, and we ordered the port assembly that supports this. However, it seems like it's only capable of being a water delivery port or an air delivery port. Is there a way to set it up to do both? If not, are you aware of any other solutions that may support this? Any insight would be appreciated!

Hello Jarod,

To drive a second valve for air, you'll need a second port assembly + valve. Some researchers use the "air line" for olfaction (driven by an olfactometer), so it's not assumed that you'll need the second interface board.

Thank you! We ordered a bunch of these awhile back, so the last thing we're missing is a flow meter. The one you linked in this thread doesn't seem to be sold anymore; do you have any other recommendations? In case it makes a difference, we are using mice for our experiment. Thank you again, I'm glad this was a relatively easy fix!

Thank you Josh! We unfortunately can't afford this one since we will need to get a bunch for our various setups. Are there any others that may be cheaper? I saw some for ~$15-20 like this one or this one, but I don't know if they are at all the same thing. We know very little about this part of the setup, apologies for the follow up questions!

The second one looks like a better option because the range is closer to what you need.
