Hello everyone!
In the lab we use a rotary encoder whose state is streamed through Bonsai to control gratings on a screen. We would like to have the timestamps of the rotary encoder positions available and being recorded in Bpod. We know that we can easily capture rotary encoder data via USB using some commands on Matlab. However, our problem is that the USB connection is currently being used by Bonsai. Do you know if it would be possible to obtain these timestamps in Bpod using this approach, or would you suggest an alternative strategy?
Currently, we are only using behavioural data saved through Bpod, but we are also setting up an ephys rig in which we want to synchronize the rotary encoder timestamps with ephys data (using Neuropixels 2.0 probes).
Thank you!
