Teensy 4.1 in Bpod 2.5 not working

Hello, I have a Bpod 2.5 and when I connected it to a bad USB hub it made the Teensy undetectable. I couldn't find it in device manager or Arduino IDE. When I connect the USB ground to the resistor F1 (https://www.pjrc.com/teensy/schematic.html), both the Bpod and Teensy light up and I am able to detect the teensy and flash it with the blink sketch and it seems fine. But the ground needs to be shorted each time I connect it. I also happen to have a spare Teensy 4.1, would you recommend desoldering the current Teensy in the Bpod module and putting in a new one, or is there something I can do to make this Teensy work again?

Sorry to hear about the issue.
F1 is a fuse, not a resistor. It should be connected to USB +5V, so I'm puzzled as to why grounding it helps at all - it should short out the board and throw the USB hub into a mode where it restricts current and throws an alert. Are you sure it's F1?

Desoldering the board may prove to be very difficult. Can you please share a photo of the board, with your connection to USB ground applied?

I was using a piece of metal to make it, it is a little off in the picture so I have colored it in purple. In orange is another connection from the USB ground to what I believe is the USB power pin. When I make either of these connections the teensy powers on and seems to work.

To clarify, I no longer use the USB hub, I am connecting it with a microUSB cable from another Teensy directly into a computer. The Teensy on the Bpod doesn't seem to be detectable by the computer unless I perform the short.
