HiFi module problems

Hi Josh,

We've recently had 3 HIFI modules fail. We are either unable to load sounds to the HIFI, or when the sounds play, the quality is very poor. The sounds are more washed out with white noise, some sounds are also interrupted. I was wondering if this is related to the SD card issue that others have reported, but it looks like our modules have the new WD cards.

On one of the devices, I did notice a pop when reconnecting the USB. The pop came from the speaker, which is connected to an amplifier, and in turn the HIFI module. I wonder if the amplifier fried the HiFi modules, or if its just a bad batch of SD cards. Any thoughts here?

Hello Max,

If these are part of the multi-institute order for IBL, the units sent to UCL have the same issue.
It doesn't seem to affect our non-IBL customers so far, so it's possible that the new iblrig software is doing something the MATLAB software isn't. I'll fill in Florian, and hopefully we'll resolve the issue soon.

I'll also reach out to you by Email to schedule a remote desktop session - I have a few ideas.
