Setting up a Bpod for the first time

Hello,
I am trying to set up an already-built Bpod system, and I followed all the instructions in the documentation for installing the software on MATLAB, where I can launch the GUI and run the example protocols. There doesn't seem to be a software issue. However, the only action the example protocols cause is a change in the Bpod's LED color and nothing else. Using the GUI, I'm only able to take measurements of the reservoirs, which is the closest I've gotten to confirmation on whether I'm actually connected to the Bpod and its peripheral devices. How do I specify the connected ports on the GUI to make sure I'm actually connected to its devices?

Hello Rbohlul1,

From the Bpod Console, select the settings (wrench) icon, and then the ports (Ethernet jack) icon. You can enable and disable ports from there.

Example protocols demonstrate usage of the Bpod hardware beyond LEDs: ports (Valve and poke detection), the HiFi module, the Analog Input and Output Modules, the Rotary Encoder Module and Video playback with Psychtoolbox.

If you need assistance beyond this, please share specifics about what you are trying to develop with Bpod.

Hi,

I am having a similar problem. The mouse ports do not deliver the same amount of water in different days and some of the ports don't work on some days. I hear the valve clicking sound but nothing moves in the tubes or out of the sprout.

I have a few questions to better understand the issue:

What liquid are you dispensing?

What tubing are you using (material and inner diameter)?

Are you using the 'Test Specific Amount' GUI in the calibration tool to measure the amount delivered?

What kind of balance are you using to measure the water?
