High frequency sound PP2
#1
Hi, there is a high frequency sound coming from the Pulse Pal 2 I bought recently. I am afraid the sound will interfere with my experiments and it is also very anoying.

Can it be related to this thread, the cable was shipped with the PP so I guess they are alright? https://forum.arduino.cc/index.php?topic=346137.0

Hi Mikkel

We have seen this problem before. Some of the Arduino Due boards from recent orders (ours are supplied by Digikey), make an audible sound when powered by USB (but not with a 12V DC converter via the barrel jack). We're not entirely sure why. Several others have reported this, i.e.

Needless to say, we are not using Arduino Due for Pulse Pal 3. For now, we test the boards in house, and replace Arduinos that have this problem before Pulse Pal ships out - but it looks like yours wasn't caught. If you return your Pulse Pal to us, we'll gladly replace it with a new one. If you'd like to do this, contact us at sales@sanworks.io for more details.

There are 2 options if you need to resolve this faster:
- Replace the Arduino Due board inside Pulse Pal
- Try a different USB power source. On these problem boards, I found that the squeal can be dependent on the USB connection powering the board. Some USB sources supply more current; even the difference between black USB2 and blue USB3 jacks on your PC may be noticeable.

Please let us know what you'd like to do.
