Recommended instrument for manual sound calibration

Do you have any recommended instrument/microphone for measuring the absolute amplitude to calibrate the sound?

Hello Cal,

For manual calibration in the human hearing range I'd consider miniDSP Umik-2. The mic works with REW software, a free application for acoustic measurement using the mic's factory calibration file.
