Closed Loop, Pulse Pal and Open Ephys - sergehijo - 01-26-2018

Hi all,

I am quite new with Pulse Pal, and i need to make a stimulation using a control loop with Open Ephys. So i have a few questions that i would be more than happy if someone can respond them both:

i) To connect to the triggers/outputs channel, a normal BNC male cable is enough ?

ii) When you use the Open Ephys module for Pulse Pal, in that module is it possible to set the triggers? (Meaning, just with the USB cable connected to PulsePal is enough to send the information of the triggers) or you use a USB-BNC cable to connect from the computer to get to the trigger input of the Pulse Pal ?  I cannot find that info in the open-ephys modulo documentation.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Sergio

The BNC trigger channels are for TTL trigger signals from other instruments.
To integrate with Open Ephys, you don't need a BNC connector - only the USB cable.

Hi Josh,

Great, thanks for the answers. Now the work is to learn how to use the Pulse Pal module in Open Ephys and work on the paper haha.

Thanks again!!
